| History | |
| This trophy was presented by the parents of Lynne King after her death in the late 1960’s. Lynne King had won a flying scholarship and had trained with North Shore Aero Club. She was a proficient and enthusiastic pilot and Club member. Her mother also commenced her training at the Club and her father, who was confined to a wheelchair was a keen Club supporter. One Saturday Lynne was involved in a fatal car accident on State Highway One whilst driving the the Aero Club for a flying lesson (just north of the bend in the road, where the windmills are located). After Lynne's death, her parents severed their links with the Club, after donating the trophy in their daughter’s name. |
