| History |
This trophy was presented by the then CFI Don Andrew to mark the non injury landing of Jon Petersons Mooney by Dawson Boles.
Dawson took off on Runway 21 and was going to practice a handling display as part of an upcoming airshow. He climbed out on the extended centreline until 2000' AMSL and levelled off and reduced power. It was at this point when the engine suffered a catastrophic failure and he was forced to land the aircraft in a padock near the edge of the Riverhead Forest. |
